Tips to avoid dry skin during winter
Skincare is absolutely seasonal, similar to your clothing. During summer, you’re busy with protecting your face from the sun, while in winter you are preoccupied of moisturizers as your skin gets dry. Then why we have dry skin in winter? Cold weather damages the lipid stratum that keeps the skin away of drying. To avoid this follow these tips:
Moisturize your skin!
Omitting moisturizer in winter will lead to skin cracking. You have to moisturizer at least once daily maybe twice. And not only your arms & legs need extra help. Here are the top 4 areas that need more care in winter
1. Your Face
Important here is knowing what type of skin you have. If dry skin, you’ll use a moisturizing cleanser followed by a creamy moisturizer.
2. Your Lips
Licking your lips will not moisturize them. Lips keep less moisture than other parts of the body, so they incline to dry out very fast. Apply a simple lip balsam and this will help a lot. Apply on your lips some Vaseline. Use a toothbrush to ‘brush’ your lips in a round motion so you can remove the dead flakes. This will make your lips soft and supple.
3. Your Entire Body
If your skin is really dried out, you need a thicker moisturizer and is best to use it after a shower. Rub it in on damp skin and let about 90 percent of it soak in immediately. Also avoid the long, hot showers in winter, they’re awful for the skin.
4. Your Hands & Feet
For hands, keeping a tube of hand balm on your desk will help keeping your hands soft.
Moisturize your feet before going to bed and then wear socks. This will keep them away of drying.
